Wassail!

There will be musicians! Singing! Possibly pie.
Green facepaint, fancy dress in the form of foliage and fruit-based headgear welcome. Bring a pot or pan to bang – we need to make lots of noise to drive off the evil spirits of cankers, wilts and slverleaf (not that we have any of those at the moment)
Also an opportunity to get to know our orchard, our beautiful heritage fruit trees, and our friendly volunteer team.
The orchard-visiting wassail refers to the ancient custom of visiting orchard reciting incantations and singing to the trees in order to encourage them to thrive next year.
Open to everyone. Meet at the Newmarket Road entrance to the orchard, to the left of the Cambridge Building Society Headquarters at 11am 23rd Jan.
